United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres stated that “Mental health is vital to humanity, allowing us to lead fulfilling lives and contribute fully to our communities.” Due to difficult and challenging times, every individual is living with some form of mental health condition, and many are experiencing varying degrees of psychological distress.
Since mental health is something that concerns every human being, it is important that we eliminate stigma and discrimination, and instead, support one another with compassion, working together towards both mental and physical well-being. Just as we maintain our physical health through proper nutrition and regular exercise, we can care for our mental health through warm, loving interactions, overcoming difficulties together, and living in supportive families that offer encouragement and resilience.
