Yangon, 19th June: Max Myanmar Group has always been supporting the protection and preservation of our environment and committed to contribute to the sustainable hotel and tourism development in Myanmar. We are well aware of the importance of the need for Myanmar’s costal tourism potential and the negative consequences of developmental intervention particularly sand mining on beaches.
Max Myanmar Group will collaborate with all relevant stakeholders and the responsible bodies of the Government to ensure the sustainable development of tourism industry at the Myanmar famous beaches areas with particularly focus on Ngapali Beach where Max Group has been accused with sand mining in 2012 which in reality was construction activity for a foundation and not sand mining. Nevertheless, sine then Max Group had stopped every foundation earth work activities with potential misunderstanding to sand mining.
Recently, Max Myanmar Group has joined the Alliance against Sand Mining at Ngapali and Myanmar Beaches. And Max Group had strongly condemned the sand digging in the beach front areas and surrounding of Nagpali beach which will have severe negative impact on the eco-environment.
