Former Manchester United soccer legends visit Myanmar


Former Manchester United soccer legends, Clayton Blackmore and Dennis Irwin, visits Yangon, Myanmar to meet with the Myanmar Football Federation and to announce their support for a Charity All-Star Soccer Match and Charity Gala Dinner to be held in Yangon on June 9.

Two other Manchester United Legends, Andy Cole and Lee Sharpe, will be in Myanmar to lend their support for the event on the 9th also. This is the first time former Manchester United star players have visited Myanmar. The match will start at 4 Pm on June 9 and will be held at the Thuwunna Stadium. The match was organized by Ayeyarwady Foundation, CEA Myanmar and Park Royal Hotel.

Clayton Blackmore and Dennis Irwin, arrived in Yangon and visited The Mahagandaryone Monastic Education School and Happy Haven Humanitarian Project (HHHP), a center where orphans born with HIV virus were kept. These are 2 of three recipients of the fund raised at the Charity event in June and another one is Sitagu Eye Care Project.

This is the first such initiative in Myanmar between foreign soccer players and the Myanmar Football Federation.

Events on the 9th June will include All Star Charity football game held at the 4pm Thuwanna Stadium and Gala dinner with soccer stars in the evening at Park Royal Hotel. All money raised from the event will go to benefit the 3 charities.
