A (50) bedded Hospital To Be Built In Yekyi

A 50-bedded Hospital will be built in Yekyi Towship, Pathein District in Ayeryarwady Region by Ayeyarwady Foundation with a mission to uplift the Educational and Health Standards of the Local People. This New Reinforced Concrete Hospital will be built within a year comprising of In-patient Wards, Out-Patient Wards along with Operation Theaters. The Foundation will also equip the New Hospital with Medical equipments and other related logistics after being completed.

Although the proposed new hospital is a 50 bedded one, if necessary it will be designed to accommodate up to 100 in-patients. At present, the Yekyi General Hospital which can only accommodate 25 beds only, is in demand for more in-house patients, and this new hospital will be able to meet the demands.

The proposed site for the New Hospital is being briefed to the Chief Minister of Ayeryarwady Region U Thein Aung and Ministers by Chairman of Ayeryarwady Foundation U Zaw Zaw and responsible officials. After it's completion, the New Hospital will be handed over to the Ministry of Health.

Chairman of Ayeryarwady Foundation U Zaw Zaw and responsible officials previously went to Yekyi on 31st March of this year to meet and discussed with officials concerned to built a New Hospital at the proposed site. At that time, he donated 30,000 Kyats per patient to (46) patients who were hospitalized then and 50,000 Kyats per person to (25) personnels who were working at the hospital.
