A (2) New Basic Education Primary School to be constructed in Yekyi

In an all out effort in uplifting the health and educational sectors of the nation, Ayeyarwady Foundation has been striving hard to support the needs of the people. Now, the Foundation is going to donate (2) numbers of Basic Education Primary Schools in Yekyi Township, Pathein District in Ayeryarwady Region.

A new extension building at Yone Kwat Thit Basic Education Primary School in Ne Win Ward, Yekyi Township will be comprised of (6) classes with 30'x40' feet width for each room and a capacity to accommodate (216) students which will be completed within 4 months. This new building is equipped with rooms for the Headmaster/Principal's Office, Recreation Room for Teachers, and Restrooms.

Also, a new school building at Phayarkyi Gone Basic Education Primary School in Aung San Ward will be comprised of (5) classes with 30'x24' feet width for each room and a capacity to accommodate (180) students which will also be completed within 4 months. This new building is fully equipped with Headmaster/Principal's Office, Recreation Room for Teachers, and Restrooms and also a Computer Room and a Library.

The foundation laying ceremony for these schools were held on the morning of 22nd May at the respective sites with the presence of Chief Minister of Ayeryarwady Region U Thein Aung and Ministers, Chairman of Ayeryarwady Foundation U Zaw Zaw and members, the townsfolk, teachers and students of the schools.

Furthermore, a co-ord Basic Education High School at Yekyi, a two-storey reinforced concrete building which was newly built in June 2010 has been upgraded to a separate Basic Education High School this year adding it as a second school for Higher Education in the township. This upgrading ceremony was also held on the morning of 22nd of May 2013.
